Strawberry Wine (EP)

Strawberry Wine (EP)

Strawberry Wine is a 1987 EP by My Bloody Valentine, their first release to feature new singer/guitarist Bilinda Butcher who shared vocal duties with Kevin Shields following the departure of Dave Conway. Only 2500 copies were made.

The contents of the EP were later combined with the group's next release, Ecstasy, and reissued as the mini-album Ecstasy and Wine, although a different version of the title track "Strawberry Wine" was used.

The recording is also referenced in the song "Watercolours into the Ocean" by Destroyer.

Famous quotes containing the words strawberry and/or wine:

One of the joys our technological civilisation has lost is the excitement with which seasonal flowers and fruits were welcomed; the first daffodil, strawberry or cherry are now things of the past, along with their precious moment of arrival. Even the tangerine—now a satsuma or clementine—appears de-pipped months before Christmas.
    Derek Jarman (b. 1942)

Our national experience in Americanizing millions of Europeans whose chief wish was to become Americans has been a heady wine which has made us believe, as perhaps no nation before us has ever believed, that, given the slimmest chance, all peoples will pattern themselves upon our model.
    Ruth Benedict (1887–1948)
