- The school mascot: Lions (same as a previous logo of the Detroit Lions)
- The music for the MV Lions fight song is the same as Ohio State University's "Fight the Team", contrary to popular belief, this is not the OSU fight song.
- The school yearbook is called the Mavahian MAple VAlley HIgh ANnual.
- School sports and announcement are published in 3 local papers: Maple Valley News, Charlotte Shopping Guide, and Hastings Reminder.
- Every year, the Maple Valley High School Marching and Concert Band holds a staged performance called "Band Bust." It contains skits and musical performances from singing to playing an instrument.
- For three years the musical was done with Lakewood High School. The last show was Les Misérables, and had over 1,700 people in attendance.
- The MVAA (The Maple Valley Alumni Association) holds their Annual Alumni Banquet every year at Maple Valley Jr.-Sr. High School. Usually the 3rd Saturday in May. The banquet includes alumni from Nashville HS,Maple Valley Jr.-Sr HS, and Vermontville HS.
