Wichita Northeast Magnet High School

Wichita Northeast Magnet High School, known locally as Northeast, is a magnet high school for the Wichita School District and is located in Bel Aire, Kansas, United States. Wichita Northeast Magnet High School was the first magnet high school in Kansas. The magnet areas at Northeast include visual arts, science, and law. Students are also exposed to mathematics and language arts. Since it is a magnet school, there is no district boundary placed by the school district, meaning any high school age student within the Wichita city limits, can attend the school without requiring a special transfer, they still, however, are required to apply for the school, then students are selected at random to attend.

Famous quotes containing the words magnet, high and/or school:

    While this magnetic,
    Peripatetic
    Lover he lived to learn,
    By no endeavor
    Can a magnet ever
    Attract a Silver Churn!
    Sir William Schwenck Gilbert (1836–1911)

That high All-seer which I dallied with
Hath turned my feigned prayer on my head,
And given in earnest what I begged in jest.
    William Shakespeare (1564–1616)

I never went near the Wellesley College chapel in my four years there, but I am still amazed at the amount of Christian charity that school stuck us all with, a kind of glazed politeness in the face of boredom and stupidity. Tolerance, in the worst sense of the word.... How marvelous it would have been to go to a women’s college that encouraged impoliteness, that rewarded aggression, that encouraged argument.
    Nora Ephron (b. 1941)
