Spinning Wait Cursor
The spinning pinwheel, also known as the "rainbow wheel" or "color wheel" is a pointer in Apple's Mac OS X that indicates an application is not responding to system events. It has also been referred to as the spinning beach ball or, unofficially, the Beach Ball of Death or the Marble of Doom. The OS X Human Interface Guidelines officially refers to it as the spinning wait cursor, noting also that the developer term cursor is equivalent to the user term pointer.
