The Lindenwood Lions and Lady Lions are the intercollegiate athletic teams of Lindenwood University, located in St. Charles, Missouri. The Lions are currently in the process of transitioning from the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) to the NCAA Division II. Lindenwood was previously a member of the Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC), as well as other teams in other organizations for non-NAIA sponsored sports. With a total of 49 sports teams, it is one of the largest college athletic departments in the United States in terms of sports offered. The Lindenwood University Department of Athletics administers 27 NCAA sports teams, while the Lindenwood University Student Life Sports Department administers 21 additional non-NCAA sports.
