The Istanbul Metro (Turkish: İstanbul Metrosu), is a mass-transit underground railway network that serves the city of Istanbul, Turkey. Founded in 2000, it now includes 28 stations in service, with 23 more under construction. The system currently consists of two lines called M2 and M4. Third and fourth lines are under construction: M6 (Üsküdar-Çekmeköy/Sancaktepe) is on the Asian side; while Kirazlı-Olimpiyatköy is on the European side.
