Santa Susana High School - Regional Occupational Program - Web Design

Web Design

Santa Susana's ROP Web Design course's goal is to prepare students for entry level positions in the Internet Web Design industry. Students learn how to create and code web sites using an increasing array of programming languages and professional tools, all the while practicing good employability skills that would make them ideal candidates for starting a career as a professional web designer.

All students will learn how to code dynamic websites from the ground up with a variety of Programming and Markup Languages. Every student works on or creates up to 8 large projects throughout the year. They range from coding Rock-Paper-Scissors in JavaScript and PHP with a database, to redoing local restaurant or business sites, to creating and maintaining the school's website. They are done "in-house" as most web designers rarely work at the business location that they are designing for.

Students of the ROP Web Design class are responsible for maintaining the schools independent website, http://santasusana.org.

Famous quotes containing the words web and/or design:

There she weaves by night and day
A magic web with colours gay.
    Alfred Tennyson (1809–1892)

Nowadays the host does not admit you to his hearth, but has got the mason to build one for yourself somewhere in his alley, and hospitality is the art of keeping you at the greatest distance. There is as much secrecy about the cooking as if he had a design to poison you.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
