A political blog is a form of internet blog (a portmanteau of the term web log) covering politics. From the rise of the first political blogs in the late 1990s, the medium has been associated with individuals often operating outside the formal political and media establishment. In many countries, however, the most prominent bloggers have now become an accepted fixture in the political milieu.
