• March 13, 2001: Anaheim traded D Jason Marshall to Washington for D Alexei Tezikov and Edmonton's fourth-round pick in the 2001 Entry Draft (previously acquired by Washington).
• March 13, 2001: Atlanta traded RW Donald Audette to Buffalo for the rights to C Kamil Piros and Buffalo's fourth-round pick in the 2001 Entry Draft.
• March 13, 2001: Calgary traded LW Cory Stillman to St. Louis for C Craig Conroy and St. Louis’ seventh-round pick in the 2001 Entry Draft.
• March 13, 2001: Chicago traded C Dean McAmmond to Philadelphia for Philadelphia's third-round pick in the 2001 Entry Draft.
• March 13, 2001: Columbus traded D Frantisek Kucera to Pittsburgh for Pittsburgh’s sixth-round pick in the 2001 Entry Draft.
• March 13, 2001: Columbus traded C Kevyn Adams and a conditional pick in the 2001 or 2002 Entry Draft to Florida for LW Ray Whitney.

• March 13, 2001- Montreal Canadiens traded C Trevor Linden, RW Dainius Zubrus and New Jersey's second-round pick in the 2001 Draft (previously acquired by Montreal, Tampa Bay Lightning selected Andreas Holmqvist with this pick) to Washington Capitals for LW Richard Zednik, C Jan Bulis and Washington's first-round pick in the 2001 Draft (Alexander Perezhogin).
• March 13, 2001- Phoenix Coyotes traded LW Keith Tkachuk to St. Louis Blues for C Michal Handzus, C Ladislav Nagy, the rights to C Jeff Taffe and a first-round pick in the 2001 or 2002 Entry Draft (The Coyotes selected Ben Eager in the 2002 Entry Draft).
• March 12, 2001 - Pittsburgh Penguins obtain G Johan Hedberg and D Bobby Dollas from San Jose Sharks for D Jeff Norton.
• March 5, 2001- San Jose Sharks obtains RW Teemu Selänne from the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim for LW Jeff Friesen, G Steve Shields and San Jose's second-round choice (later traded to Dallas, Dallas selected Vojtech Polak) in 2003 NHL Entry Draft.

• February 21, 2001 - Colorado Avalanche obtains D Rob Blake and C Steve Reinprecht from Los Angeles Kings for RW Adam Deadmarsh, Aaron Miller, first-round draft pick (David Steckel) and a conditional pick (the trade was completed 20 days before the trade deadline).
