2012 Line Closure
It was announced on 3 February 2012 that the train service on the Tonsley line would be withdrawn for a year, effective from 27 February 2012, with the service replaced by buses. At Adelaide station, two of the nine platforms will be closed on a rolling basis to allow for overhead works, and for work on the expansion of the Adelaide Convention Centre.
Uncertainty was expressed by some railway enthusiasts as to whether train services would resume after the year-long closure. In response, the Minister for Transport Services, Chloƫ Fox, informally stated that the line "will be reopened early 2013", and subsequently confirmed that there are no plans to permanently close the line.
The closure was extended until September, 2013, for electrification of the line.

Famous quotes containing the word line:
“Gascoigne, Ben Jonson, Greville, Raleigh, Donne,
Poets who wrote great poems, one by one,
And spaced by many years, each line an act
Through which few labor, which no men retract.
This passion is the scholars heritage,”
