The Miracle Maker (2000 Film)

The Miracle Maker is a stop motion-animated film about the life of Jesus Christ through the eyes of a young girl, Tamar; the terminally ill daughter of Jairus; a priest in Capernaum. (The daughter of Jairus is not named in the New Testament.) Hand-drawn animated cartoons are used to distinguish flashbacks, parables, stories, spiritual encounters and visions from the main plot, which is all in stop motion.

The film was directed by Derek Hayes and Stanislav Sokolov. It stars the voice of Ralph Fiennes as Jesus, and numerous other well-known actors.

The film ends with Anne Dudley's "Pie Jesu" for solo boy soprano and orchestra.

Famous quotes containing the words maker and/or miracle:

If I were a maker of books I should compile a register, with comments, of different deaths. He who should teach people to die, would teach them to live.
    Michel de Montaigne (1533–1592)

Much verse fails of being poetry because it was not written exactly at the right crisis, though it may have been inconceivably near to it. It is only by a miracle that poetry is written at all. It is not recoverable thought, but a hue caught from a vaster receding thought.
    Henry David Thoreau (1817–1862)
