Paschim Vihar

Paschim Vihar is an upmarket residential colony in Delhi, India. It comes under the Punjabi Bagh subzone of West Delhi. However there are a good lot of group housing societies, both DDA Flats and private societies. It is a relatively old area. The Outer Ring Road divides it into two parts. The West side has the pincode 110063 and is relatively older than the East side having the pincode 110087.

The east side comes under the Vidhan Sabha seat of Shakurbasti and the MLA is Mr. Shyam Lal Garg (Bharatiya Janata Party) and the West side comes under Nangloi Jat and the MLA is Dr. Bijender Singh (Indian National Congress). The area is divided into 4 wards: Paschim Vihar North and Paschim Vihar South cover the east side as well as Jwala Heri Village. Guru Harkishan Nagar and Peera Garhi that cover the west side as well as the Peera Garhi Village.

A large chunk of the population is Hindu Jats. However the relocatement camps (No. 4 and No.5) and nearby villages of Nangloi, Mangolpuri, and Sultanpuri have considerable Muslim populations. Similarly Guru Harkishan Nagar on the West Side has a significant Sikh population.
