Mushaf Ali Mir - Chief of Air Staff

Chief of Air Staff

Mir superseded five senior Air Marshals to become the Chief of Air Staff. Those air marshals were: Muhammad Farooq Qari, Vice Chief of Air Staff; Zahid Anis, DCAS (Operations); Qazi Javed Ahmed, DCAS (Personnel); Pervez Iqbal Mirza, AOC Southern Air Command; and Riazuddin Shaikh, DCAS (Administration), all of whom sought premature retirement.

During his tenure, the PAF's F-6 aircraft were retired from service. Some of them were given to the Bangladesh Air Force.

Famous quotes containing the words chief, air and/or staff:

My chief humor is for a tyrant. I could play Ercles rarely, or a part to tear a cat in, to make all split.
    William Shakespeare (1564–1616)

It so happened that, a few weeks later, “Old Ernie” [Ernest Hemingway] himself was using my room in New York as a hide-out from literary columnists and reporters during one of his rare stopover visits between Africa and Key West. On such all-too-rare occasions he lends an air of virility to my dainty apartment which I miss sorely after he has gone and all the furniture has been repaired.
    Robert Benchley (1889–1945)

Then he took his staff in his hand, and chose five smooth stones from the wadi, and put them in his shepherd s bag, in the pouch; his sling was in his hand, and he drew near to the Philistine.
    Bible: Hebrew, 1 Samuel 17:40.
