Surface Coating
For some leathers a surface coating is applied. Tanners refer to this as finishing. Finishing operations may include:
- oiling
- brushing
- padding
- impregnation
- buffing
- spraying
- roller coating
- curtain coating
- polishing
- plating
- embossing
- ironing
- combing (hair-on)
- glazing
