Comcast Sports Net Philadelphia
Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia (CSN Philadelphia) is a regional sports network operated by the locally-owned Comcast cable television provider, part of the NBC Sports Group. It primarily serves the Philadelphia metro area, but its reach extends to cover Southeastern Pennsylvania, all of South Jersey, and most of Delaware. CSN Philadelphia debuted on October 1, 1997, replacing the PRISM Network and SportsChannel in the Philadelphia area.
CSN Philadelphia was the first Comcast SportsNet channel. It is the cable home of the NBA's Philadelphia 76ers, NHL's Philadelphia Flyers, MLB's Philadelphia Phillies, and MLS's Philadelphia Union. The network also covers local college sports games, including the Philadelphia Big Five, the Atlantic 10, and the Colonial Athletic Association.
CSN Philadelphia's studios and offices are located inside the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia. CSN Philadelphia also has a small studio inside Citizens Bank Park, which is used sporadically during the baseball season.
In addition, Comcast owns the Comcast Network, which on occasion will air Phillies games in the Philadelphia metro area when a Flyers or 76ers game airs on CSN Philadelphia. Some Flyers and 76ers games are also aired by Comcast Network, while WPHL-TV carries some Phillies games.
With Comcast's acquisition of NBC in 2011, Comcast SportsNet was also integrated into the new NBC Sports Group, culminating with the addition of the peacock logo and an updated graphics package to mirror that of its parent network.

Famous quotes containing the words philadelphia, net and/or sports:
“Id like to see Paris before I die. Philadelphia will do.”
—Mae West, U.S. screenwriter, W.C. Fields, and Edward Cline. Cuthbert Twillie (W.C. Fields)
“A culture may be conceived as a network of beliefs and purposes in which any string in the net pulls and is pulled by the others, thus perpetually changing the configuration of the whole. If the cultural element called morals takes on a new shape, we must ask what other strings have pulled it out of line. It cannot be one solitary string, nor even the strings nearby, for the network is three-dimensional at least.”
—Jacques Barzun (b. 1907)
“Guys do not have a genetic blueprint that allows them to understand or love sports.”
—Lesley Visser, U.S. sports reporter and announcer. As quoted in Sports Illustrated, p. 82 (June 17, 1991)
