Previously, a standard definition simulcast of the main channel was on 18.2. It has since been upgraded to 720p widescreen and also added SAP and descriptive video audio feeds, although as of June 2012 those have been added to the main channel as well. Until March 1, 2011, WCCB carried FOX Charlotte Weather on its third digital subchannel, which provided NOAA Weather Radio feeds from Spencer Mountain, Columbia, SC, and Rock Hill through SAP. Me-TV was scheduled to replace FOX Charlotte Weather on February 1, 2011, but was delayed by one month due to contractual issues. FOX Charlotte Weather remains available through WCCB's mobile DTV service, and the Spencer Mountain and Rock Hill NOAA feeds were retained on the Me-TV subchannel. However, the Spencer Mountain feed was removed in mid-2012.

Famous quotes containing the word channels:
“Not too many years ago, a childs experience was limited by how far he or she could ride a bicycle or by the physical boundaries that parents set. Today ... the real boundaries of a childs life are set more by the number of available cable channels and videotapes, by the simulated reality of videogames, by the number of megabytes of memory in the home computer. Now kids can go anywhere, as long as they stay inside the electronic bubble.”
—Richard Louv (20th century)
