A Two-cylinder engine is a reciprocating engine which has two cylinders. The cylinders and the crankshaft which drives the pistons can be configured in various ways.
Configurations of two-cylinder engine include:
- Straight-two engine, with two cylinders in parallel sharing a crankshaft
- V-twin engine, two cylinders sharing a crankshaft at an angle
- Flat-twin engine, having both cylinders on the same crankshaft at 180° to each other
- U engine with two cylinders with separate crankshafts
Famous quotes containing the word engine:
“Industrial mana sentient reciprocating engine having a fluctuating output, coupled to an iron wheel revolving with uniform velocity. And then we wonder why this should be the golden age of revolution and mental derangement.”
—Aldous Huxley (18941963)
