Famous quotes containing the words highway, south and/or western:

In one notable instance, where the United States Army and a hundred years of persuasion failed, a highway has succeeded. The Seminole Indians surrendered to the Tamiami Trail. While the South is hardly Christ-centered, it is most certainly Christ-haunted.
    Flannery O’Connor (1925–1964)

O western orb sailing the heaven,
Now I know what you must have meant as a month since I walked,

    Walt Whitman (1819–1892)
