SeaWorld plans to remodel its entire entrance. It will feature a large wave sculpture over the entrance. SeaWorld will also add some touch pools near the entrance for guests to touch all kinds of small sea creatures. construction is set to start in late 2012 and will be finished in 2014 for the park's 50th anniversary.
SeaWorld is opening a new show in the Mission Bay Theatre, partnering with DreamWorks to create a character show bases off of the movie Madagascar. The Mission Bay Theatre was the former home of the Sesame 4D movie. The show opens in mid-June.
SeaWorld San Diego also plans to add an Aquatica park. SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment purchased one of the Cedar Fair-owned Knott's Soak City water parks in late 2012. In 2013, the water park will reopen as Aquatica San Diego.
