River Hill High School - Students

Students

River Hill High School opened in 1996. It is one of the most prominent schools in the state. The school population peaked in 2002 with 1755 students, but has steadily decreased because several other high schools have opened in Howard County to ease the population strain on the existing schools. The school is known for strong academics with over 99% of the students passing the Maryland high school assessments.

Famous quotes containing the word students:

American universities are organized on the principle of the nuclear rather than the extended family. Graduate students are grimly trained to be technicians rather than connoisseurs. The old German style of universal scholarship has gone.
    Camille Paglia (b. 1947)

Separatism of any kind promotes marginalization of those unwilling to grapple with the whole body of knowledge and creative works available to others. This is true of black students who do not want to read works by white writers, of female students of any race who do not want to read books by men, and of white students who only want to read works by white writers.
    bell hooks (b. 1955)

It is, all in all, a historic error to believe that the master makes the school; the students make it!
    Robert Musil (1880–1942)
