Pigeon Pox

Pigeon pox is a viral disease to which pigeons are susceptible. There is a live viral vaccine available (ATCvet code: QI01ED01). Pigeon pox is caused by a virus that is spread by mosquitoes and dirty water but not in droppings.

Famous quotes containing the words pigeon and/or pox:

They wait, each like a wooden decoy
or soft like a pigeon or
    a sweet snug duck:
until one moves, moves that dart-beak
    breaking over.
    Anne Sexton (1928–1974)

The inconveniences and horrors of the pox are perfectly well known to every one; but still the disease flourishes and spreads. Several million people were killed in a recent war and half the world ruined; but we all busily go on in courses that make another event of the same sort inevitable. Experientia docet? Experientia doesn’t.
    Aldous Huxley (1894–1963)
