    Modern tourist guides have helped raised tourist expectations. Do not go gentle into that good night,
    Old age should burn and rave at close of day;
    Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

    Mine honesty and I begin to square.
    The loyalty well held to fools does make
    Our faith mere folly; yet he that can endure

    Does conquer him that did his master conquer
    And earns a place i’ the story.
    William Shakespeare (1564–1616)

    For our vanity is such that we hold our own characters immutable, and we are slow to acknowledge that they have changed, even for the better.
