Big Worm (played by Faizon Love) is the main antagonist of the first film. He is the drug dealer who Smokey works for. He is well known for violent acts, killing a guy for fifty dollars. Smokey owes him $200 and he told Worm that he and Craig got high off Worm's product. Worm makes a threat that if Smokey doesn't have the money by 10PM, he will kill him and Craig. Big Worm drives an orange 1961 Chevy Impala and his license plates say BIG WORM. He sports a perm, and uses his job as an ice-cream truck driver to hide his illegal activities. Worm sends his thugs to do a drive-by on Smokey and Craig but they fail. In the end, Smokey pays the debt and the two reconcile. However, Smokey quits as Big Worm's dealer. Smokey is mentioned in the narration only once, at the beginning of Next Friday. Craig tells us that his friend Smokey went to rehab, and that he's going to miss him.

Famous quotes containing the words big and/or worm:
“... my mother ... piled up her hair and went out to teach in a one-room school, mountain children little and big alike. The first day, some fathers came along to see if she could whip their children, some who were older than she. She told the children that she did intend to whip them if they became unruly and refused to learn, and invited the fathers to stay if they liked and shed be able to whip them too. Having been thus tried out, she was a great success with them after that.”
