Authorities
The industry recognises examinations conducted by IAI (for actuaries), III (for agents, brokers and third-party administrators) and IIISLA (for surveyors and loss assessors). TAC is the sole data repository for the non-life industry.
IBAI gives voice for brokers while GI Council and LI Council are platforms for insurers.
AIGIEA, AIIEA, AIIEF, AILICEF, AILIEA, FLICOA, GIEAIA, GIEU and NFIFWI cater to the employees of the insurers.
In addition, there are a dozen Ombudsman offices to address client grievances.

Famous quotes containing the word authorities:
“The new supplants the old. Yet mens minds are stuffed with outworn bunk. Educating the young in the latest findings of authorities and scholars in the social sciences is important. It is equally important to devise ways and means for aiding the middle-aged and old to reexamine hang-over unscientific doctrines and ideas in the light of recent discovery and research.”
—Mary Barnett Gilson (1877?)
“Our memories are card indexes consulted and then returned in disorder by authorities whom we do not control.”
—Cyril Connolly (19031974)
“Fathers are still considered the most important doers in our culture, and in most families they are that. Girls see them as the family authorities on careers, and so fathers encouragement and counsel is important to them. When fathers dont take their daughters achievements and plans seriously, girls sometimes have trouble taking themselves seriously.”
—Stella Chess (20th century)
