Golden Raspberry Award For Worst Screenplay

Golden Raspberry Award For Worst Screenplay

The Razzie Award for Worst Screenplay is an award presented at the annual Golden Raspberry Awards for the worst film screenplay of the past year. The following is a list of nominees and recipients of that award, including each screenplay's author(s). The Golden Raspberry Award Foundation renamed this award The Joe Eszterhas Dis-Honorarial Worst Screenplay Award after Eszterhas won his second award in this category. The only other writer with multiple wins is Daniel Waters, also with two Razzies.

Three "winners" received their awards, though only one in the actual ceremony, Catwoman co-writer Michael Ferris. Razzies founder John J. B. Wilson delivered the prize to Brian Helgeland - who after winning an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay for L.A. Confidential expressed interested in receiving his Razzie for The Postman - in his office, and to J.D. Shapiro, co-writer of Battlefield Earth, in a radio program.

Famous quotes containing the words golden, award and/or worst:

A thousand golden sheaves were lying there,
Shining and still, but not for long to stay—
As if a thousand girls with golden hair
Might rise from where they slept and go away.
    Edwin Arlington Robinson (1869–1935)

The award of a pure gold medal for poetry would flatter the recipient unduly: no poem ever attains such carat purity.
    Robert Graves (1895–1985)

Proverbial wisdom counsels against risk and change. But sitting ducks fare worst of all.
    Mason Cooley (b. 1927)
