Equipment

Chris uses a Fender Jazz bass to create his sound, but has also been seen using a Fender Jaguar bass, Rickenbacker 4003 and a Hofner Violin bass into two Marshall bass Heads and Cabinets. Chris is a big fan of Fender Jazz Basses due to their thin necks. The bass was put through an Ampeg SVT Classic head most of the time, using a 4x12" cabinet as well as a 1x15" one. Before he could afford the Vox cabs, though, he was using a Hartke 4x10". As for pedals, an Electro-Harmonix Octave Multiplexer was used on 'Running Battle'. "It takes your bass down two octaves, so the amp just cries. You can use it so that the bass acts like a kick drum," says Chris. As well as Boss DS-1 He’s also got a BigMuff distortion that was used for the end of 'Test Transmission' and 'Cutt Off'.

He uses many pedals to create his sound, such as: - Electro Harmonix Little Big Muff with tone wicker - Electro Harmonix Octave Multiplexer - Boss DS-1 Distortion - Boss TU-2 Chromatic Tuner - Electro Harmonix Bass Microsynth - Electro Harmonix Big Bass Muff Pi

Famous quotes containing the word equipment:

Biological possibility and desire are not the same as biological need. Women have childbearing equipment. For them to choose not to use the equipment is no more blocking what is instinctive than it is for a man who, muscles or no, chooses not to be a weightlifter.
    Betty Rollin (b. 1936)

Pop artists deal with the lowly trivia of possessions and equipment that the present generation is lugging along with it on its safari into the future.
    —J.G. (James Graham)

Dr. Scofield’s equipment, which you have just seen, radiated waves direct to Professor Houghland’s laboratory. When these waves came in contact with those the professor’s equipment was radiating, they created the interstellar frequency, which is the death ray.
