Charlie Mason is an American lyricist whose credits include Top 40 singles by Monrose ("Hit 'N' Run"/Germany), Billiam ("Beautiful Ones"/UK), What's Up ("If I Told You Once"/Sweden), DCX ("Poor Romeo"/Finland) and Birgit Õigemeel ("Homme"/Estonia).
Mason got his start as a lyricist working with German vocalist-musician Dirk Homuth on songs for an alt-pop group which Homuth named Almost Charlie so that, although his friend is "unable to play any instrument more complicated than a toaster," he could still be represented in some way. Almost Charlie's debut album, Loving Counterclockwise, was released to positive reviews in 2006 by Phonector; their follow-up, tentatively titled The Plural of Yes, will be released in 2009 by the American indie label Words on Music.
Since then, Mason has written lyrics in nearly every genre, for popular artists including BoA ("Scream"/US), Queensberry (band) ("Stiletto Heels"/Germany), Jonathan Fagerlund ("Dance in the Shadows"/Sweden), Sarah Burgess ("Dangerouz"/US), Sergey Lazarev ("He Said, She Said"/Russia), Danny Saucedo ("Do or Die"/Sweden), Sweetbox ("You Don't Know What You're Sorry For"/US), Sanna Nielsen ("But I Know What I Want"/Sweden) and Girls' Generation ("Boomerang"/Japan).
In 2008, former Streetwize boy band member Donal Skehan competed in Ireland's Eurovision Song Contest finals with "Double-Cross My Heart," a song Mason co-wrote. That same year, Mason completed work on the demos for his first movie musical, a horror-comedy-romance called "The Dead Don't Date."

Mason has said that "his goal in life is to have the option of spending all day, every day, locked in a room with a view of his platinum records writing one lyric after another, occasionally taking breaks to play with the pets he looks forward to rescuing from animal shelters."
