Week 3: At Dallas Cowboys
|
Still looking for their first win of the season, the Panthers flew to Cowboys Stadium for a Week 3 Monday night duel with the Dallas Cowboys. After a scoreless first quarter, Carolina would get the lead in the second quarter with quarterback Jake Delhomme's 25-yard touchdown pass to tight end Dante Rosario. The Cowboys would take the lead in the third quarter with kicker Nick Folk's 24-yard field goal and running back Tashard Choice's 5-yard touchdown run. Dallas would get a further grasp on the lead in the fourth quarter with Folk's 19-yard field goal and cornerback Terence Newman returning Delhomme's 7th interception of the season 27 yards for a touchdown (with Choice getting the 2-point conversion run). The Panthers tried to rally, but the Cowboys' defense would prevent their comeback from happening.
With the loss, Carolina entered its bye week at 0–3.

Famous quotes containing the words week, dallas and/or cowboys:
“Some days your hats off to the full-time mothers for being able to endure the relentless routine and incessant policing seven days a week instead of two. But on other days, merely the image of this woman crafting a brontosaurus out of sugar paste and sheet cake for her two-year-olds birthday drives a stake through your heart.”
—Melinda M. Marshall (20th century)
“If a foreign country doesnt look like a middle-class suburb of Dallas or Detroit, then obviously the natives must be dangerous as well as badly dressed.”
—Lewis H. Lapham (b. 1935)
“What do you think spies are: priests, saints and martyrs? Theyre a squalid procession of vain fools, traitors too, yes; pansies, sadists and drunkards, people who play cowboys and Indians to brighten their rotten lives.”
—John le Carré (b. 1931)
