2003 US Open – Women's Singles
The women's singles competition at the 2003 US Open started on Monday, August 25, 2003 in New York City. Serena Williams was the champion in 2002; however, she did not participate in 2003 because of injury. Justine Henin-Hardenne was the Champion defeating Kim Clijsters in the final, 7-5, 6-1. Henin-Hardenne dropped only one set in the whole tournament and that was to American Jennifer Capriati in the semi-finals.
