Structure
SDS is a chapter based organization. Individuals belong to particular chapter, and a national working committee, coordinate national campaigns and communications between the chapters. Working groups form on an as-needed basis and give reports back to the national working committee. Certain caucuses based on specific historical oppressions fulfill an ombudsman-like role, in addition to acting in support and networking capacities for the organization generally.
