Early Life
M.T. Joseph was born on 21 October 1910, in Manon House, Nedumprayer, Maramon, Kerala, one 1 km away from the Maramon Convention site. His parents, Manon Thomachen and Rachel, were villagers of limited education. They were members of the Maramon Mar Thoma Parish. Joseph had five brothers and a sister.
After finishing his primary education in Maramon, Joseph joined the St. Thomas School Kozhencherry. M.G. Chandy (later Alexander Mar Thoma) was his class mate.
