Changes in Management Structure and Key Personnel

Over the course of the past decade, Gordon Reid has gradually been relinquishing direct control of Giant Tiger. In 1999, he resigned the presidency of Giant Tiger in favour of Jeff York, an executive with ten years’ experience at the company. In October 2010, Reid stepped down as chief executive officer of Giant Tiger, in favour of Andy Gross, a twenty-five year veteran with the chain, who started working as a buyer when there were fewer than thirty stores. Gross had, by this time, already inherited the presidency from Jeff York. Reid retains his post as chairman of the board.

Famous quotes containing the words management, structure, key and/or personnel:

Why not draft executive and management brains to prepare and produce the equipment the $21-a-month draftee must use and forget this dollar-a-year tommyrot? Would we send an army into the field under a dollar-a-year General who had to be home Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays?
    Lyndon Baines Johnson (1908–1973)

Slumism is the pent-up anger of people living on the outside of affluence. Slumism is decay of structure and deterioration of the human spirit. Slumism is a virus which spreads through the body politic. As other “isms,” it breeds disorder and demagoguery and hate.
    Hubert H. Humphrey (1911–1978)

Now narrow minds can develop as well through persecution as through benevolence; they can assure themselves of their power by tyrannizing cruelly or beneficently over others; they go the way their nature guides them. Add to this the guidance of interest, and you will have the key to most social riddles.
    Honoré De Balzac (1799–1850)

This woman is headstrong, obstinate and dangerously self- opinionated.
—Report by Personnel Officer at I.C.I., rejecting Mrs. Thatcher for a job in 1948.
