Executive Order 13356 is a United States Presidential Executive Order signed on August 27, 2004, by President George W. Bush. Its goal was "Strengthening the Sharing of Terrorism Information To Protect Americans". It was supplemented and partially superseded Executive Order 13388.
Section 1 of the executive order lays out a policy change, instructing the directors of US intelligence agencies
...to the maximum extent consistent with applicable law ... give the highest priority to (i) the detection, prevention, disruption, preemption, and mitigation of the effects of terrorist activities against the territory, people, and interests of the United States of America.
Later sections of the Executive Order specified the details of how the directors of US intelligence agencies should implement this policy change.
Famous quotes containing the words order and/or executive:
“We are born into them, marry into them, even create them among the people we love. They come large and extended...or small and nuclear. But whatever their size or wherever they live, strong families give us the nurturance and strength we need in order to survive.”
—Andrea Davis (20th century)
“She isnt harassed. Shes busy, and its glamorous to be busy. Indeed, the image of the on- the-go working mother is very like the glamorous image of the busy top executive. The scarcity of the working mothers time seems like the scarcity of the top executives time.... The analogy between the busy working mother and the busy top executive obscures the wage gap between them at work, and their different amounts of backstage support at home.”
—Arlie Hochschild (20th century)
