As part of the nation-wide Sixth Periodic Review of Westminster constituencies, the Boundary Commission for Northern Ireland suggest expanding the current South seat into a new constituency styled 'Belfast South West'. This would require adding Blackstaff, Upper Malone, Malone, and Windsor, amongst others, in addition to the change of name
