Segunda División De México

The Segunda División is the third level of the Mexican football league system. The Segunda División (Second Division) is divided into two leagues, the Liga Premier de Ascenso (Promotional Premier League) and the Liga de Nuevos Talentos (League of New Talents). The season is divided into two tournaments, Torneo de Apertura (Opening tournament) and Torneo de Clausura (Closure Tournament). The Liga Premier de Ascenso (Promotional Premier League) is one of the two leagues (along with the Liga de Nuevos Talentos (League of New Talents)) consisting the Segunda División, the third level of the Mexican football league system.

The Liga Premier de Ascenso has 32 teams divided into two groups. The Apertura champion each year will play the champion of the respective Clausura tournament, in order to determine who will ascend to the Liga de Ascenso de Mexico, or if occasion arises, the team manages to win two tournaments in a year, amount direct without having to play a game round.

The Liga de Nuevos Talentos consists of 26 clubs divided into two zones. These clubs have no interest in being promoted and just want to develop new talent.
