Santa Cruz – Chembur Link Road

The Santa Cruz – Chembur Link Road (SCLR) is a 6.45 km road, currently under construction in Mumbai. It links Santa Cruz to Chembur. It is expected to be completed in October 2013. It comprises Mumbai's first 'double decker' flyover. The six-lane road is being constructed as part of the World Bank-funded Mumbai Urban Transport Project (MUTP) at a cost of 435 crore (US$80 million). The project is being executed by the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA).

A portion of the SCLR, the 560 m Kurla-Kalina flyover over LBS Marg, was opened to public by Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan on 10 August 2012.

I almost doubted if the lake would be there,—the self-same lake,—preserve its form and identity, when the shores should be cleared and settled; as if these lakes and streams which explorers report never awaited the advent of the citizen.
