Royscot Trust Ltd v Rogerson EWCA Civ 12 is an English contract law case, concerning the Misrepresentation Act 1967 and the extent of damages available under s 2(1) for negligent misrepresentation. It decided that under the Act, the appropriate measure of damages was the same as that for common law fraud, or damages for all losses flowing from a misrepresentation, even if unforeseeable.
Famous quotes containing the word trust:
“Every journalist who is not too stupid or too full of himself to notice what is going on knows that what he does is morally indefensible. He is a kind of confidence man, preying on peoples vanity, ignorance, or loneliness, gaining their trust and betraying them without remorse.”
—Janet Malcolm (b. 1934)
