Lulworth Estate

The Lulworth Estate is located in central south Dorset, England. Its most notable landscape feature include a five mile stretch of coastline on the Jurassic coast. Part of the area is a special World Heritage Site.

The historic estate, of which the stately castle - Lulworth Castle - was residence to the Weld family until 1929 when it was ravaged by fire.

The estate is predominantly owned by the Weld family who have lived there for several generations. The Lulworth estate was once part of a much grander estate under Thomas Howard, 3rd Viscount Howard of Bindon.

Famous quotes containing the word estate:

    Sweet are the thoughts that savour of content,
    The quiet mind is richer than a crown;
    Sweet are the nights in careless slumber spent,
    The poor estate scorns Fortune’s angry frown.
    Such sweet content, such minds, such sleep, such bliss,
    Beggars enjoy, when princes oft do miss.
    Robert Greene (1558?–1592)
