Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii (Hindi: कहानी घर घर की, English: The Story of Each Home) was an Indian soap opera that aired on STAR Plus. This show is ranked number 1 in the list of STAR Plus top 10 shows of all time beating the TRP's (Television Rating Points/Popularity) of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi. Totaling 1700 episodes, it is India's Third longest running serial. Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii was one of the top rated shows of the 2000s and enjoyed tremendous popularity in India and abroad. It starred Sakshi Tanwar as Parvati Om Agarwal in the lead role.

KGGK was India's second most watched show from 2001 to 2002 (with an average audience of 65 million). This show became Asia's second most watched show from 2003 to 15 November 2006(with an average audience of 90 million). KGGK's 15 November 2006 episode become World's most watched episode, by breaking all previous world TRP (Television Rating Points/Popularity) Records. It achieved a TRP of 40.9 which means an audience of 204 million across many countries of the world. The Non-Hindi knowing and Non-Asian population was also able to watch the show as it was translated into many eastern and western languages by the producer of the show, Ekta Kapoor. It was not recorded in Guinness book of world records due to ekta-Guinness rivalry over kyunki saas... The depiction of the story and concept of Identity transformation for the jail escape was perfect and such a high level and dose of quality entertainment was unexpected from any show in the world. The final episode of the show ended on October 9, 2008 on the eve of Dusshera.
