Garden City Regional Airport

Garden City Regional Airport (IATA: GCK, ICAO: KGCK, FAA LID: GCK) is a city-owned public-use airport located eight nautical miles (9 mi, 15 km) southeast of the central business district of Garden City, in Finney County, Kansas, United States. It is mostly used for general aviation, but is also currently served by one commercial airline. Service is subsidized by the Essential Air Service (EAS) program. In December, 2011, the EAS program awarded a second airline, American Eagle Airlines two daily non-stop flights to Dallas-Fort Worth.

This airport is included in the National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2011–2015, which categorized it as a primary commercial service airport (more than 10,000 enplanements per year). As per Federal Aviation Administration records, the airport had 11,453 passenger boardings (enplanements) in calendar year 2008, 10,014 enplanements in 2009, and 10,155 in 2010.

Famous quotes containing the words airport, garden and/or city:

Airplanes are invariably scheduled to depart at such times as 7:54, 9:21 or 11:37. This extreme specificity has the effect on the novice of instilling in him the twin beliefs that he will be arriving at 10:08, 1:43 or 4:22, and that he should get to the airport on time. These beliefs are not only erroneous but actually unhealthy.
    Fran Lebowitz (b. 1950)

The garden flew round with the angel,
The angel flew round with the clouds,
And the clouds flew round and the clouds few round
And the clouds flew round with the clouds.
    Wallace Stevens (1879–1955)

Local television shows do not, in general, supply make-up artists. The exception to this is Los Angeles, an unusually generous city in this regard, since they also provide this service for radio appearances.
