The theatrical Blu-ray version of The Lord of the Rings was released in the United States on 6 April 2010. The individual Blu-ray disc of The Two Towers was released on 14 September 2010 with the same special features as the complete trilogy release, except there was no digital copy.

The Extended Editions for Blu-ray were released in the U.S. and Canada on 28 June 2011. This version has a runtime of 235 minutes.
