Petra Kvitová (; born 8 March 1990) is a Czech professional tennis player. Known for her powerful left-handed shots and variety, she has won ten career singles titles. She reached her career-high ranking of world no. 2 in October 2011, and is currently (as of 27 May 2013) ranked world no. 7.
Kvitová won the 2011 Wimbledon Championships and the 2011 WTA Tour Championships singles titles, becoming the first Grand Slam event winner born in the 1990s, and the third player to win the WTA Championships on her first attempt. She has also reached the semifinals of the 2012 Australian Open and the 2012 French Open, losing on both occasions to Maria Sharapova.
