Nettwerk

The Nettwerk Music Group is a Canadian record label and distribution company, based in Vancouver. Established in 1984 by Terry McBride, Mark Jowett, Tom Ferris and Cal Stephenson, initially to distribute recordings by the band Moev, the label subsequently expanded to release albums by a wide variety of Canadian and international alternative rock acts, ultimately becoming one of the largest and most influential independent record labels in Canada.

Initially specializing in electronic music genres such as alternative dance and industrial, the label also became a powerful player in pop and rock in the late 1980s and early 1990s with the mainstream success of artists such as The Grapes of Wrath and the label's best-known artist, Sarah McLachlan.
