Muhammad Madni Ashrafi Jilani is a Sufi Imam. He has travelled around the world to attend many large mehfils. He is a prominent Sufi Scholar at this moment of time. Also he is based in India, Gujarat and everyone in their family have been Sufi Imams and Sheikhs for a very long time. They claim to be the 39th descendant of the Islamic prophet, Muhammad.
Muhammad Madni Ashrafi Jilani is Chief caretaker (Sajjada Nasheen) of Makhdoom al Millat Muhaddith al A'zam al Hind It was in the light of such an Islamic environment that "Hazrat" was born on 1st Rajab 1357(AH - After Hijri). He is a Sufi Scholar of Kichhocha Sharif U.P India.
He has written books on various topics of Sufism, which have been published during the last thirty five years.
He was also the architect in publishing Ma'ariful Qur'an which is the translation of the Qur'an al-kareem into Urdu. This translation was published along with notes in Gujrati and Hindi languages.
He writes poetry under the pseudonym of Akhtar and a compilation of his work was made and published in the sub-continent titled 'Guldasta '.
It is said that he has more than 6 crores ( 60 millions ) mureeds (followers) all over the world. He has given taqurir in many parts of the world especially in India, USA, UK and Pakistan.
