Lions Youth Brass Band

The Lions Youth Brass Band is a youth band based in Sandbach, England. Founded in 1988, the band is named after several Lions Clubs in the region that have sponsored it since its founding. The organization contains three bands for players of different skill levels; in ascending order, these are the beginners' band, the junior band, and the youth band.

The band has placed highly in national competitions on several occasions, and won the national youth band competition two years in a row in the 1990s. The group has made five recordings: cassettes, "The Pride of the Lions" volumes 1 and 2, and four CDs, "Sounds of Youth", "True and Trusty" "Loyal and True" and "Lions Youth Brass Entertain You".

The organisation's current Musical Directors are Nigel Birch (Youth Band), Ian Raisbeck, Derek Gardner and Tom Hancock (Junior Band) and Chris Thompson, Hayley Scott, Andrew Felton and Matthew Darlington (Beginner Band). David Thornton, Principal Euphonium of the Black Dyke Band, has been appointed 'Musical Associate' whilst former player Ian Raisbeck also holds the title of 'Composer-in-Residence'.
