Islamic Terrorism

Islamic terrorism (Arabic: إرهاب إسلامي‎ ʾirhāb ʾislāmī ) is a form of religious terrorism committed by extremists of Islam for the purpose of achieving varying political and/or religious ends. Islamic terrorism has been identified as taking place in the Middle East, Africa, Europe, South Asia including India, Southeast Asia, and the United States since the 1970s. Islamic terrorist organizations have been known to engage in tactics including suicide attacks, hijackings, kidnapping and recruiting new members through the Internet.
