Gretna (Scottish Gaelic: Greatna) is a town in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland. Because they are near the Anglo-Scottish border, nearby Gretna Green and, to a lesser extent, Gretna, are historically linked to weddings because of the more liberal marriage laws in Scotland. Four and twenty at her back
    And they were a’ clad out in green;
    Tho the King of Scotland had been there

    On we lap and awa we rade

    Whare the roof was o’ the beaten gold
    And the floor was o’ the cristal a’.
