Being a premier institute thousands of students apply every year. Due to limited seats, selection is done on the basis of All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE) rank. In 2010, out of 1,150,000 aspirants who gave the AIEEE examination, DA-IICT invited students having 15,000 rank or below (general category) living outside Gujarat and 30,000 rank or below (general category) to fill Gujarat quota for admission. Famous quotes containing the word admission:

Powerful, yes, that is the word that I constantly rolled on my tongue, I dreamed of absolute power, the kind that forces others to kneel, that forces the enemy to capitulate, finally converting him, and the more the enemy is blind, cruel, sure of himself, buried in his conviction, the more his admission proclaims the royalty of he who has brought on his defeat.
    Albert Camus (1913–1960)

The admission of the States of Wyoming and Idaho to the Union are events full of interest and congratulation, not only to the people of those States now happily endowed with a full participation in our privileges and responsibilities, but to all our people. Another belt of States stretches from the Atlantic to the Pacific.
    Benjamin Harrison (1833–1901)

There are eyes, to be sure, that give no more admission into the man than blueberries.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)
