Buildings At Risk Register - England - Heritage At Risk

Heritage At Risk

In July 2008 English Heritage replaced the "Buildings at Risk Register" with the new Heritage at Risk Register. In addition to historic buildings at risk, the Heritage at Risk Register includes England’s most important archaeological sites, its registered historic parks and gardens, its registered battlefields, and the protected wreck sites that lie off the coastline.

An updated survey, listing the buildings at risk in England, is published annually by English Heritage each autumn. The register's database can be searched online.

Famous quotes containing the words risk and/or heritage:

    Kemmerick: He’s dead. He’s dead.
Katczinsky: Why did you risk your life bringing him in?
Kemmerick: But it’s Behm. My friend.
Katczinsky: It’s a corpse, no matter who it is.
    Maxwell Anderson (1888–1959)

It seems to me that upbringings have themes. The parents set the theme, either explicitly or implicitly, and the children pick it up, sometimes accurately and sometimes not so accurately.... The theme may be “Our family has a distinguished heritage that you must live up to” or “No matter what happens, we are fortunate to be together in this lovely corner of the earth” or “We have worked hard so that you can have the opportunities we didn’t have.”
    Calvin Trillin (20th century)
