The club currently has around 200 members and races a keelboat fleet and a dinghy fleet. The keelboat fleet races as one division on Sundays, and as three divisions in the Friday Twilight Series during summer. The dinghy fleet races in one division.
... The club hosts the annual Balmain Regatta, which is claimed to be the oldest in Australia, on the last Sunday in October each year ... With the revival of the club in the 1990s, the regatta restarted in 1996 and has run annually ever since ...
Famous quotes containing the words club and/or sailing:
“I think there ought to be a club in which preachers and journalists could come together and have the sentimentalism of the one matched with the cynicism of the other. That ought to bring them pretty close to the truth.”
—Reinhold Niebuhr (18921971)
“I saw three ships come sailing by,
Come sailing by, come sailing by,
I saw three ships come sailing by,
On Christmas Day in the morning.”
